Scope:
This course is designed to comply with the requirements of Regulation III/5, Section A‐III/5, and Table A‐III/5 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, STCW 1978, as amended.

Prerequisites:
This course is available to oilers, engine mechanics who wish to be part of a navigational watch, or those sailors with experience as helmsman or AB seaman aboard merchant ships. No pre‐ customized to participate in this course, however, participants must be of legal age (18 or older) and possess a certificate of good health.

Entry Standards

   Every candidate for certification shall:

• Valid Medical Certificate

• Valid Basic Safety Training Certificates.

• Held a “COP Rating Forming part of an engineering  watch (Regulation III/4)” issued by Panamá Maritime Authority or a “COP Rating Forming part of an engineering watch (Regulation III/4)” issued by any Maritime administration included on the IMO white list which don’t have any restriction by Panamá Maritime Authority.

• Approved period of seagoing service of 6 months or above as “Rating Forming part of an engineering watch (Regulation III/4)” on ship powered by main propulsion machinery of 750 propulsion power or more, stated on the seaman´s book duly stamped and or on the company letters duly letterhead detailing ship’s particulars (IMO NUMBER, CALL SIGN, TYPE OF VESSEL, GROSS TONNAGE, PROPULSION POWER).
